Best Indian restaurant in Zurich
I have been waiting for this restaurant. :) I wasn't familiar with the well-known Indian restaurant chain and I'm not a fan of chains, but I'm happy to make an exception here. Each restaurant is run individually and that's a good thing. In Zurich, Saran and his partner Anitha. Both have Tamil roots, grew up in Switzerland and understand what authentic Indian food is all about.
Location Saravanaa Bhavan
The restaurant is located right next to the Museum für Gestaltung streetcar stop. The restaurant is quite large and is also suitable for larger groups. It is beautifully decorated in green and gold tones with lovely details. There is a sink right at the entrance for those who want to eat authentically with their hands.

All dishes are home-made and fresh, using local ingredients where possible. There is a tandoori oven and a large grill for the huge, delicious dosas. The focus is on South Indian cuisine, exclusively vegetarian and vegan.
