Malabar
The Malabar is run by Madhu Padmanabhan and his wife Andrea Ries and is considered the best Indian in town. My opinion on that: Yes, the food is really very good, but I think Kerala is even a bit better. In Kerala Madhu used to cook before he opened the Malabar. The food in the Malabar is characterised by the Indian spice mixtures, if possible seasonal and local ingredients are used, which are processed according to the Slow Food philosophy. I was pleasantly surprised by the vegetarian starter plate with three home-made chutneys and refreshing mango-avocado salad. If you want to try different dishes, a Thali is suitable. This is available in five varieties as vegi, with lamb, chicken, fish or prawns accompanied by two vegetable dishes, Dhal, Basmati rice, Papad and Raita. The homemade Chai ice cream is highly recommended and is made from Seebach buffalo milk.
My Tip: Malabar Mix Vegi as an appetizer and as a dessert Chai Glace
